Moi jokainen !
As I promised : Here is another post ! This one is about my last week end : the one I spent in Helsinki. Before I start, I must warn you : this article's gonna contain a lot of amazing, wonderful and synonymes of those words 'cause I spent one of the nicest times since I'm here. Let's start by the beginning. After school (I finish at 14:15 on Friday) we waited for my youngest host-sister to come back from the hair dresser, and then we went to Helsinki by car. I slept half of the ride, and that's why it went fast, because when people are awake, there is a bit more than two hours from Mikkeli to "suomalainen pääkapunki". (Yes I'm proud of my three words of Finnish..) .. And the next day we went SHOPPING. We spend the morning (when I say morning I mean from 10 to 13) in a big mall and that was fantastic ! The mall was truly gigantic, and I had a really good time there even if I spend quite a lot of money.. After that we went eating some sushis. That was my first time (and now I think about it, it is totally logical to go to Finland to eat sushis..) And that was AWESOME ! After that my host-father left to see an horse race, and my host-mother, S and I try the ferris wheel just next to Helsinki's harbour ; that was magical. We went shopping downtown too and that was crazily great ! We went eating to Chico's and I took an hamburger that I would qualified of... FREAKING GOOD, and we went watch the basketball match (France-Finland). For the ones who don't follow the sportive actuality (don't worry I usually don't either) for the eurobasket 2015, the first match was Ranska vs Suomi. (And France won). The match was very great, full of tension until the end and Finland has played very well. But during the whole match, I couldn't decide who I supported and that was quite funny. The next day we mostly went sight seeing, and while we were walking in Helsinki's streets, I thought that it looked quite like Edinburgh : sea, nice people, rain, 'r' rolled, beauty and a lot of seagulls. We also went to Kiasma, which is a Contemporain art museum, and we saw some really interesting exhibitions : one about R. Mapplethrope, another one, called 'Face to Face' wich I really liked and a last one called 'School of obedience' about capitalism. I spent an amazing week end, and I'm afraid my words can't testify of the great fun and the endless amazement that I experimented in Helsinki, and more generally in Finland. But that's why Nicéphore Niépce invented photography ! Moimoi! Alice PS : If you have any questions (in french, english, Finnish, armenian, spanish, WHATEVER) you can send them to : [email protected] and I'll answer it in my next post ! Love you, Alice
